The laboratory’s two main lines of research have been, on the one hand, the development of biological biomarkers that serve as diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment-response tools in various neuromuscular diseases, particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, immune-mediated neuropathies, and myasthenia gravis; and, on the other hand, the performance of high-resolution genetic studies (RNAseq, whole exome sequencing) for the diagnosis of myopathies not identified with standard techniques. In addition, we have participated in 15 clinical trials in myasthenia gravis, ALS, and immune-mediated neuropathies.
