Throughout 2024, our group has continued advancing projects aimed at expanding the organ pool: 1) Concluded inclusion in a multicenter study on preoperative statin use and lung graft dysfunction (AES/ISCIII PI19/01660); 2) Continued enrollment in a study on mechanical insufflation-exsufflation (MI-E) in donor lung maintenance (AP176932021); 3) MPS-LOC (PLEC2022-009481): development of liver-on-chip systems using microfluidics, 3D printing, human liver cells, and bio-inks to replace animal testing; 4) 3DLiver (CPP2021-008633): creation of 3D liver models for ADMETox drug testing; 5) PRECOCE: novel corneal preservation with cerium oxide nanoparticles. New projects: 6) ECABOX: external eye preservation system for regenerative therapy and transplantation; 7) MTHiV: use of portal blood to accelerate liver maturation and assess effects on bioengineered hepatic tissue.
