In 2024 we presented our results in the study of the interactions of extremely small biocompatible NPs and the structure of SAR-COV-2 spikes, how nanoparticles insert a three dimensional cavity structure of proteins for function inhibition: The Case of CeO2 and SARS-CoV-2 while continuing studying the effects of cerium oxide nanoparticles CeO2 NPs on reactive oxygen species and mitochondria and from there to metabolism and inflammation. Regarding SARS-Cov-2, we successfully immunised mice with virus-like particles made of a 50 nm Au NP decorated with a mosaic of spike proteins. We have also been studying the potential hazardous effects of nanomaterials, always promoting their safe and sustainable introduction into society. On this line, we also continued our work on the interactions of proteins and nanoparticles related to the concept of protein corona formation. An in-house developed methodology for analyzing NPs inside the cell under confocal microscopy has also been presented.
